Collaborative online activities
We as teachers can plan and realize online activities where all students will take place, all of them will be the participants of these activities. But before we'll start such kind of activities,we have to take into account many things. We have to strike a balance in our interaction with the students so that the board has a focus on learning and is interesting enough to pull learners into the conversation but at the same time it mustn't be such complicated that the learners are overwhelmed.
When the students express their opinions, encourage them to ask you questions if they can't understand anything from the topic.
You have to choose the model of communication you want your students to use, you have also set the early deadlines for postings.
The students must feel themselves as the participants of one family so we have to shift our role as a participant. We have to be participant of the activity as well as facilitator, who can help students if they'll have difficulties.
We can't expect students to know automatically how to participate in an online discussion,so we must create a syllabus, where we'll give them clear guidlines and post these guidelines as the first item in the board.
Such activities help students to be engaged in teaching-learning process and give more information about particular topic, they can also take parts in discussions and this will help them to be open-minded and brave enough to express their opinions freely and easily.
